1955 Topps Roberto Clemente

This 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente rookie card is another great rookie card from the 1955 Topps set. One of a handful of the best post-World War II cards, this one can be very expensive in even just acceptable condition. Only serious baseball card collectors have added this card to their collections. One of the most beloved players in baseball history, Clemente was twelve time All Star and Gold Glove Award Winner. Clemente played his entire career for the Pittsburgh Pirates and led them to two World Series titles. He was the 1966 National League MVP and the 1971 World Series MVP. Clemente finished his career with exactly 3,000 hits as a tragic plane crash took his life on New Year's Eve in 1972. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
