1955 Topps Sandy Koufax

This 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax rookie card is the first card of the great lefty. Coming from a great 1955 Topps baseball set, this card is one of the greatest pitcher rookie cards of all time. To buy this card in professionally graded near mint/mint condition, a collector has to be prepared to shell out thousands of dollars. This rookie card can even be expensive in poor condition and few baseball card collectors are lucky enough to have this card in their collection. A Brooklyn native, Koufax would go on to become a three time Cy Young winner and a three time World Series Champion as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He is generally considered one of the greatest pitchers of all time. Koufax was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
