1956 Topps Mickey Mantle

The 1956 Topps Mickey Mantle is a good example as to how Mickey Mantle cards tend to be some of the most sought after cards of all time. 1956 was a year that the great New York Yankees center fielder won one of his seven World Championships, matching the number he wore on his back. It is also the year he won his first MVP award. Many consider this one of the best looking Mantle cards ever issued making it possibly the most popular Mickey Mantle card outside of his 1952 Topps rookie card. Despite the fact that this is not a rookie card, this card is the gem of the set. Because 1956 was the first year that Topps issued a set since they bought out Bowman, this was the first Topps Mantle card issued since 1953.
