1957 Topps Johnny Unitas

This 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas rookie card is the first card of one of the best players in NFL history. Though this set was a bit odd looking, even for its time, the card is simply one of the most sought after football rookie cards ever issued. It is also very expensive as, in decent condition, this Unitas rookie will sell for thousands of dollars. Not many football card collectors are lucky enough to have this card in their collection. Selected late in the 1955 Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Unitas made his debut with the Baltimore Colts in 1956 and the rest is history. Unitas would go on to become a ten time Pro Bowler and three time NFL Most Valuable Player. He led the Colts to two NFL Championships and one Super Bowl win. Unitas was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
