Topps This 1961 Topps Roger Maris baseball card may be the former New York Yankees outfielder's most popular card despite not being his rookie card. In 1961, Maris hit 61 home runs breaking Babe Ruth's record for home runs in a season. Despite being broken numerous times in the steroid era, many purists consider Maris to be the true record holder. Despite winning two MVPs and three World Series rings, Maris is not a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
