1966 Philadelphia Gale Sayers

This 1966 Philadelphia Gale Sayers rookie card is the first card of one of the most famous running backs of all time. One of the most sought after and unique vintage football cards on the market, this Sayers rookie was issued by the Philadelphia Chewing Gum Company as they had the license for NFL cards while the more traditional Topps company owned the license for AFL football cards. Surprisingly affordable on the open market, this card is a great target for any vintage football card collector. The fourth overall pick in the 1965 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, "The Kansas Comet" was one of the most dominant players throughout his career. Though his career was cut short after just six years as a result of injuries, Sayers was a four time Pro Bowler. Sayers was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977, before he even turned 35 years old.
