1966 Topps Fergie Jenkins

This 1966 Topps Ferguson "Fergie" Jenkins rookie card is the first card of one of the top pitchers of his era. Coming from the same 1966 Topps baseball card set as Jim Palmer's rookie card, owners of this card will have to be content with possessing the second best pitcher rookie card from the set. This card features Jenkins as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies, but he is most famous for pitching for the Chicago Cubs. A three time All Star and the 1971 National League Cy Young Award winner, Jenkins was one of the top pitchers of the late sixties and early seventies. A 1991 inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame, most fans who remark that he is one of the top black pitchers of all time don't actually realize that Jenkins is a Canadian.
