This 1969-70 Topps Lew Alcindor rookie card is the first card of the great NBA center who would go on to achieve enduring fame after changing his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This odd looking, oversized card is generally considered to be one of the best basketball rookie cards of all time. It is extremely expensive on the open market so owning it is only a dream for many basketball card collectors. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would go on to become a six time NBA Champion and six time NBA Most Valuable Player. The nineteen time All Star had his number retired by both the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers. Elected to the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995, Abdul-Jabbar is considered among a small handful of the best players of all time.
