1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Marcel Dionne rookie card

Marcel Dionne
Year:
1971-72
Set:
O-Pee-Chee

This 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee Marcel Dionne rookie card is the first year card of one of the NHL's most prolific goal scorers. Though most hockey card collectors prefer the Guy Lafleur rookie card from the same 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee hockey card set, this card can be fairly expensive on the market if in the right condition. Despite featuring Dionne in a Detroit Red Wings jersey, this rookie card should be at the top of the want list for any Los Angeles Kings collector. The second overall pick in the 1971 NHL Draft (behind Lafleur), Dionne would go on to play four years in Detroit before signing with the Kings. An eight time All Star, playoff success eluded Dionne throughout his career. The six time 50 goal scorer finished his career with 731 NHL goals. Dionne was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992.
