This 1984 Fleer Update Dwight Gooden Rookie card is the first ever baseball card of the former New York Mets pitcher. Though this is Gooden's most expensive baseball card, the potential value of this card during the 1980s when Gooden was tearing up the league was never achieved as this rookie card is now very affordable on the open market. Dwight "Dr. K" Gooden was one of the most dominant pitchers in the game before his career took a wrong turn because of drug abuse. Despite this and a string of injuries, Gooden would end his career with three World Series Wins and would even go on to pitch a no-hitter in 1996.
