1984 Topps Don Mattingly

This 1984 Topps Don Mattingly rookie card was one of the most popular cards in the 1980s. Coming from the widely popular 1984 Topps set, this card was a target for every kid in America for five or six years after it was issued. Though it looked for a few years as though this card would be a great investment; today, the price has come down greatly and it can be had for a very reasonable amount on the open market. Although the former New York Yankee first baseman never won a World Series and will probably never make it to the Hall of Fame, for a time he was one of the best players in the game and a baseball icon.
