1986 Topps Traded Barry Bonds

Before he was the steroid riddled home run king for the San Francisco Giants, he was a skinny Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder on this 1986 Topps Traded Barry Bonds rookie card. Not as widely distributed as Bonds' 1987 Topps card, perhaps this one still has some popularity with collectors. Considering the fact Bonds ended his career possessing some of the most coveted records in baseball, this card is very affordable. With its black top border, this card was surprisingly hard to keep in acceptable condition. Bonds won multiple Most Valuable Player awards and is the all time leader in home runs. There will surely be some controversy when he becomes eligible for the Hall of Fame.
Cool hat. But he is still a cheater. Too bad he could have been great.
