1989 Donruss Randy Johnson

This 1989 Donruss Randy Johnson rookie card is the Big Unit's first MLB card. Though it is not Johnson's best rookie card, it is in fact a rookie card of one of the best pitchers of the modern era. Very affordable on the open market, this is a great entry level Randy Johnson rookie card. More serious Randy Johnson collectors would be better off targeting his Upper Deck rookie card from the same year. Pictured here in a Montreal Expos uniform, Johnson would go on to star for the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks. The 6'10" southpaw has over 300 career wins and is approaching 5,000 strikeouts. He is a nine time strikeout leader, five time Cy Young winner, and was a co-World Series MVP for the 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks.
