Upper Deck This 1989 Upper Deck Randy Johnson rookie card is another first year card of The Big Unit. As this Upper Deck rookie card is Johnson's top rookie card, this card is not quite as affordable as his other rookie cards. Coming from one of the few great late 1980s baseball card sets, this Randy Johnson rookie card is probably the second best card of the set, clearly coming in behind the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card. Both superstars would go on to star for the Seattle Mariners.
