1990-91 NBA Hoops Gary Payton

This 1990-91 NBA Hoops Gary Payton rookie card is a first year card of one of the top basketball players of the last 20 years. Coming from the much maligned 1990-91 NBA Hoops basketball card set, this card can be very cheap on the open market despite the fact that it is the rookie card of a great player. Not a great looking rookie card, this one is nevertheless a good mark for any 1990s basketball card collector. The second overall pick in the 1990 NBA Entry Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, Payton would go on to become a nine time All Star. Nicknamed "The Glove" because of the tight defense he was known for playing, Payton would win an NBA Championship late in his career with the Miami Heat. The two time Olympic Gold Medalist is known for his on-court rivalry with Michael Jordan late in Jordan's career.
