1990 Upper Deck Sammy Sosa

Even though the picture looks more like Sammy Davis Jr., this 1990 Upper Deck Sammy Sosa rookie card is in fact a first year card of the prolific slugger. Pictured in his Chicago White Sox uniform, Slammin' Sammy was already on his second team as he made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers in 1989. After averaging about ten home runs in his first three seasons, Sosa was traded to the Chicago Cubs before the 1992 season and the rest is steroid fueled history. This card had its years of popularity on the market when it was very easy to sell. Collectors who bought Sammy Sosa rookies in those years would probably be willing to unload this card now for a very reasonable price.
