1997 Fleer David Ortiz

Even though the name on the front of the card says David Arias, this 1997 Fleer David Ortiz rookie card is the real rookie of the Boston Red Sox slugger. Though this card can be a bit expensive on the open market, it is a must have for Red Sox collectors. Because it took a number of years before Ortiz became an established star in the league, this rookie card flew under the radar for years. There is no doubt that many baseball card collectors went scrambling for their 1997 Fleer commons when Ortiz had his breakout year with the Red Sox in 2003. The six time All Star is one of the most beloved players in Red Sox history and spent a few years as one of the most feared hitters in the game. Big Papi was a big part of the 2004 and 2007 World Series Champion Red Sox teams.
