Topps Traded This 1999 Topps Traded Josh Hamilton rookie card is the first card of the former first overall pick. Ultimately one of the top rookie cards from 1999 baseball sets, this one has been hot and cold on the open market for years and mint graded ones can be fairly expensive. This rookie card features Hamilton in a Tampa Bay Devils Rays uniform, a team for which he never played a game. Injuries and personal issues kept him away from the big leagues until 2007, when he made his debut as a member of the Cincinnati Reds. He was subsequently traded to the Texas Rangers where he finally became the five tool outfielder that many had predicted a decade earlier.

Can this rookie card worth ever be as high as it should be. Even though he is now a superstar it seems he just lost too much time to really become a fixture amongst baseball card collectors. Hamilton cards should have been just as big as Pujols cards or Jeter cards.
