Adam Wainwright
Year:
2000
Set:
Topps Traded

This 2000 Topps Traded Adam Wainwright rookie card is the first card of the current St. Louis Cardinals pitcher. Though this card is fairly affordable on the open market, that does not diminish the fact that it is one of the better rookie cards of its time. Serious Wainwright collectors will want to opt for the more expensive Topps Chrome version of this rookie card. Wainwright, a Georgia native, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 2000 Draft, but he never saw the field for the Braves. During his rookie season with the Cardinals in 2006, Wainwright led the Cardinals to the World Series Championship as the unlikely star closer of the team. The next year he moved back to the rotation and has been one of the top National League pitchers ever since.
