The 2011 Football Rookie Cards Are Out

The lockout is over...football is back...and the 2011 football card sets are being released. Of course, this means that collectors finally get a shot the 2011 rookie crop. Every year, football card collectors jump at the chance to grab a few cards of the hot rookies in hopes that one or two of them will catch fire and they will have a find on their hands.

This year most collectors will probably gravitate towards Cam Newton rookie cards as Newton was the first overall pick and has the potential to become one of the most exciting players in the NFL. A potential dark horse to be the real winner amongst memorabilia collectors is AJ Green as many feel he is the best bet to be a star in the NFL. But remember that football card collectors love their quarterbacks. It seems to be set in stone that next year Andrew Luck rookie cards will be all the rage amongst card collectors but at this time last year the same could have been said for Jake Locker rookie cards.

One way or another, it will be fun to tear open a pack and find your team's top draft pick wearing his professional jersey. Have fun with the 2011 issues, football card collectors.
