A few years back, card collectors saw a Stephen Strasburg rookie card sell on eBay for 5 figures. Strasburg went on to need Tommy John sugery and is expected to start his rehab sometime next year. What a shame for that buyer.
Well, today I found out that prospect hunters just never learn. A 2011 Bowman Red Parallel Bryce Harper rookie card 1/1 (that means only one made) has been put up for auction on eBay for $25,000 or best offer. You can view the auction here.
Now, I just want to point out before you go check out the auction: this seller wants $25,000 (or best offer) for a piece of cardboard that was manufactured this year. Please don't but this card if you have any sense. If you really think Harper is going to be a superstar, for the love of God just buy his normal rookie card.
Another Harper rookie card that someone is hoping to get $25,000 for is on eBay. This one is a one of five and it's not even an autograph. Nice looking card though.
